Sober Living vs Rehab

Let's talk about sober living vs rehab. I never knew the difference when I using and I feel like that could've really helped guide me to recovery.
Rehab is where you usually go for first to detox. They'll medicate you to help you get clean so you won't feel bad. Don't be afraid of that. They will also require you to go to group meeting and do some self help work. You're usually there 30 -90 days depending on the facility. There are some that are longer. You stay in the building while you're there.
Sober living is where you already have to be clean upon arrival. They will continue to do random drug tests to make sure you stay clean. You will have to have a job, pay fees, do chores,  &  meetings are required, You do get to leave the house as long as you're back by the curfew they give you. You'll sign in and out when you go anywhere. They'll give you a weekend pass usually after a few months of being there. You'll get to leave for the whole weekend and be back by curfew on the last day. Sober living is where you'll learn how to live productively in society again. It was what really helped me the most in recovery. You're usually there for 6 months - 1 year but of course sometimes longer.
I encourage everyone to research to see which would work for better for them because we are all in different places in our lives. Sometimes we need both. There are also ways to get help financially. There are grants or even payment plans available. Call around and ask as many questions as you need to. Either way, never give up. Keep pushing forward to the next right thing and things will get better.

If you haven't tried a bubble tea, you definitely should. I'm not a tea drinker, but the coffee flavor bubble tea tastes just like coffee. It's so good. Don't miss out on the small things in life because you might end up loving them.
